History

The firm is small to medium-sized practice and has a unique history:

In February 1972 after qualifying as a chartered accountant, Ian Donald was employed with Ernst and Young in Palmerston North.

In December 1982 Ian was appointed a partner in that firm and continued as a partner there until December 1991.

Between 1981 to 1991 he specialised within Ernst and Young as a tax consultant and was responsible for commencing a specialist tax division in the Palmerston North office and providing regular tax consulting visits to offices at New Plymouth, Napier, and Dannevirke

In February 1992 he started his own firm as a chartered accountant, doing accountancy work as well as tax consulting. At that time the team was only three people.

Since then the team has increased in size as the client base expanded. The team now at times is up to ten people.

The practice has not been a party to a merger and has no national
or international affiliations.
